ABSENT: Lauren Marie Wohl was excused from this Town Board Meeting due to a prior commitment. Her Deputy, Joanne Castaldo took minutes of the meeting. The Supervisor George Hoehmann declared the Town Board meeting opened. Assemblage saluted the flag. The Town Clerk read the roll call.

PUBLIC COMMENTS REGARDING AGENDA ITEMS AND GENERAL

PUBLIC COMMENTS The Supervisor asked the public if there were any comments on any item? Steve Levine, Congers Mr. Levine is glad to see that the Town is giving our Auxiliary Police an exemption. They do a lot of good work. He is glad we are honoring them and recognizing them. Mr. Levine expressed that the Town Board look closely regarding Public Hearing #4. Let's see what they are proposing.

If they are moving to retail...Route 59 has a lot of issues with traffic. The Palisades Parkway is located at the on and off ramp...behind that hotel, there are a lot of residential homes in the area. They currently have a nice green space. Let's take a real hard look at what the applicant is proposing. Mr.

Levine also stated that item #2 - Creating a Commission to Assist and Advise the Town on Protecting and Conserving Land, Open Space, Natural, Historic, Cultural and Recreational Resources. He is curious as to who was appointed to this Commission? Town Officials? Can we add any citizens to this Commission? He sees that it is allowing membership - up to seven people? He hopes that the Town will reach out to citizens.

They are important in this discussion. Perhaps a person from each Ward? We should get a different perspective. Matt Brennan, New City Mr. Brennan lives on Germonds Road. This is a County Road but he feels this is the Town's responsibility. This road is not handicap assessable. It is in desperate need of sidewalks. People are walking on the road. It is extremely dangerous. In addition, Mr.

Brennan stated that Exit 10 Northbound - the exit ramp off of the Palisades Parkway is completely ridiculous. The traffic backs up and cars disobey signals. He is suggesting there should be an exit from the NYS Thruway to Route 304. The situation needs to be addressed. The Supervisor responded: To Mr. Levine: Ed Mooney is not a Town Employee. Susan Farese is actually on our AHRB Board and Commission.

(Architecture Historical Review Board). She is also involved in the Nanuet Civic Association and the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce. The Town Board is open to going up to seven members. The Greenway Commission is incredibly important. We have protected property and evaluated certain properties...even as we speak. We want recommendations through the Greenway Commission - this will help us going forward. To Mr.

Brennan: This is a Rockland County Road and it is not the Town's responsibility. We have had conversations with the County. Every County Legislature has been given the opportunity to receive up to $1.5 - $1.7 million to apply towards sidewalks in the municipalities that they cover. We have spoken to two legislatures.

We are working on a sidewalk extension on a County road, in West Nyack, from the four corners up to Kenbar Lane. This is still in process. The Supervisor is urging Mr. Brennan to go to his County Legislature because the County has spoken about this. Every Legislature can apply for this. This was adopted as part of their Budget package. It is $1.5 million - 1.7 million X 17. That is a lot of money.

The County is earmarking for sidewalks where the legislatures can partner with the municipalities. The Supervisor has asked our Highway Superintendent to look at this in the past. He does agree that there is a major issue on County roads - like Little Tor Road by Exit 10. He has asked them to look at putting in a traffic circle, like they did up in Hammond Road in Haverstraw for this intersection.

You are dealing with Rockland County roads and the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The program for funding is part of the County/Legislature program. The bottleneck and the backup on this road leading off the Palisades Parkway is up to the County working with the PIP. The Supervisor thanked Colin Schmitt, Director of Finance and Donald Franchino, Ward 3 Officer who advocated for a grant from the State for over $1.

5 Million for sidewalks in Nanuet, from Church Street to Middletown Road. Nanuet also received $5 million from the Federal Government in a grant for the TOD Zone in Nanuet. The Supervisor congratulated Michael Graham to the Permanent Position of Police Sergeant for the Clarkstown Police Department and Ruth Metz provisionally to the position of Senior Recreation Leader for the Parks and Recreation Department.
